Some cute food-based kanji pictograms from Hiromura Design.
I complained before about pictograms being useless for learning, but they do look pretty cool.

Design Festa #32
I went to #designfesta yesterday.
Here are a few of my favourite artists in rough order of awesomeness.
I bought postcards from each of the following artists. Click through for their websites.

Did anyone else go to Design Festa?
5 different films made using the same dialog. This is such a clever idea, and the films look fascinating. Looking forward to seeing this.
Illustrator James Shedden just updated his portfolio!
I love this piece from Sayaka Ganz.
Amazing vintage penmanship.
Makes me wonder what a tech-related website would be like if we still used this old style. I can imagine titles for “Unresolved Bugs” or “Compile time” in perfect calligraphy.
When I get my own cafe/design company/web startup, I want something like this on the wall of my place too.
Edit: Tumblr breaks the gif animation, click-through for the original.
Animation showing the calligraphic composition of the Al Jazeera logo.
Amazing what late-night trawling of Wikipedia language pages will find. This is really fascinating.
Hermes Installation
Completely stupid, completely awesome.
